Justin Poole SculptureJustin Poole Sculpture Justin Poole Sculpture This was the first large project I did while I worked for Watercourse Technology. I was given a set of PSDs and Illustrator files and was presented with the relatively simple task of converting images to a usable site. What was going to be challenging was writing all of the javascript to handle the transitions and animations that the designer included. Early on, we made the decision to not use flash so that users of mobile devices or those without flash installed would be able to view the site as it was intended. More Information
Coal WeekCoal Week Coal Week I made this website to support campus actions at Miami surrounding coal. I am an active member of Green Oxford, our school's Student Environmentalist Organization and work on the coal working group. We fight to bring an end to burning dirty coal, and for a future where our energy comes from renewable sources. More Information
Clermont Historical CollaborativeClermont Historical Collaborative Clermont Historical Collaborative One of the teams of local business professionals working as part of the Clermont 20/20 leadership program were tasked with completing a project for the handful of historical societies in Clermont County Ohio. The project was to make one place that one could go to learn about the individual societies. I was awarded the project over a good amount of others and got right down to business developing a clean, easy to use site that allows for a good deal of expansion. I implemented a custom backend based off the same code running my own site that would make it easy to update when I was no longer working on the site myself. More Information
Travelers JoyTravelers Joy Travelers Joy When I read about a internship on Miami's website, I jumped upon seeing that it included web design and development. After a series of interviews, I got an internship with the company, developing new features like a google maps interface to map out honeymoons, along with several other cool interactive features. The project stretched my skills and forced me to get serious about new technologies in web development for the first time since I learned php. More Information
Kings Goal ClubKings Goal Club Kings Goal Club I took the site from a few static html pages, and turned it into a full blown wordpress-driven dynamic site. The new version is built on the same framework at Kings Roundball, offering the ease of use of Wordpress, with a few custom features added to suit the needs of those who will be updating the site. Kings RoundballKings Roundball Kings Roundball When I was approached to work on Roundball I was immediately excited. I had the opportunity to be part of the team that started the site in programming class during my senior year of high school and the ability to continue work was a thrilling proposal. I was able to bring the site out of the stone-age, implementing many new features all built on top of a Wordpress backend. The final result was, in my opinion, one of the best local sports sites.
